I just wanted to share some photos from my new vantage point in Gosport since I started working for the National Coastwatch (NCI) based in Fort Blockhouse.

'Pont-Aven' departing Portsmouth for Santander (21/03/17)

'Baie de Seine' departing Portsmouth for Le Havre (21/03/17)

'Mont St Michel' departing Portsmouth for Ouistreham (06/03/17)

'Amorique' arriving in Portsmouth from Ouistreham (05/02/17)

More to follow as I get them....................!

No Tony,

Chris as in Roscoff Chris, purveyor of liquid refreshment, frequent BF user, lives in Havant when not in Roscoff, currently enjoying a nice glass of Viognier as Germany take a 1-0 lead.....>:(

Now you're rubbing it in Tony .....  :P

I love number 3, an identical photo to the one you took of Armorique.

Can you please take the same shot of Pont Aven the next time she is in town, thus avoiding that monstrous carbuncle of a funnel she is now forever lumbered with.

I'll see what I can do Chris. Pont-Aven goes onto her Summer Timetable from April so her Tuesday arrivals in Portsmouth may not coincide with my shifts. I should be able to catch her departure on April 25th, unless I make a special trip to Fort Blockhouse beforehand on one of my days off.

Hi Tony,

Out of interest what camera and lens(es) are you using for these excellent shots?

Any answer will do, just not an IPhone .....😖

I have a 10 year old Nikon digital SLR with a 28mm - 70mm AF lens which takes great pictures, it doesn't fit into my trouser pockets though .....😤

I'm guessing a Fujifilm Finepix S1800, but I might be wrong!!!

I'm a Nikon user too Chris and the results are fantastic, I agree.

Hi Chris, it's a Fijifilm S1800, only using the basic setting. I do use my Galaxy S7 phone sometimes, especially if the target is close.

Either Cabin-Boy is stalking me or he's downloaded one of the photos to find out the image details, lol.

Tony, if you're at work Saturday morning I'll wave from Normandie as we pass at around 0830!
