Hello, We were also on Pont Aven this morning. We had booked Commodore Cabin 8402, and the lovely Steward offered us the usual Continental a la cabine, or, joy of joys, in Le Flora. We took up the offer and upgraded to the 'Vitality' option (Full English) for the princely sum of £6.60 for the three of us. What a lovely surprise! Wortley, it was a foggy crossing complete with fog horn sounding, and at times quite bumpy. I was a little late with the issuing of Stugeron for my youngest Son, I had to leave breakfast, to get them from the cabin, whoops!!

I sailed on the Duchesse Anne's maiden voyage from Portsmouth to St Malo, on the 14th February 1989. She was quite stable on that rough crossing, and seemed quite flash, all chrome and neon signs. The cabins under the car deck, however were not pleasant and seemed to be original B&i vintage. Preferred the Prince of Brittany though, such a classic ship.

Ship from Weymouth to Cherbourg was the Maid of Kent, she operated on that route until 1981. She was powered by steam turbines and a real classic, although her car decks were not freight friendly. Had you crossed with Brittany Ferries, you would have travelled on Cornouailles, Penn ar Bed, Prince of Brittany or Armorique.

Barbican Pasta Bar on the Barbican, Southside Street for Dinner. Cap'n Jaspers for breakfast rather than the Jury's Inn offerings. Both are the choice eateries of Janners. Parking at Jury's can be a flipping nightmare!!
