Re: Autoroute rest stops - Normandy Thanks very much. I can see there's a little picnic spot just along the Vire at Pont-Farcy and in the town at Avranches is the Jardin des Plantes which has a play area too. Really useful to have a starting point and definitely will try to get off the motorway, much more relaxing!
I'm going to be driving the A29-A13-A84 (Le Havre-Caen-StMalo) this summer with 2 small children. I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a decent rest stop along the route where there's a playground and the kids can burn off a bit of energy? Perhaps one of the 'Aires' has a decent play area/picnic spot? Or even somewhere 5 or 10 minutes off the motorway would be worth it as I expect we'd stop for a good hour or so. Would appreciate any suggestions from those who've done a similar trip. Many thanks.
