  1. Truckline was formed in 1972 as a freight-only operation between Poole and Cherbourg, with the first sailing on 29 June 1973. During 1985 Brittany Ferries purchased Truckline and a summer-only passenger service began the following year, still operated as Truckline Ferries. By 1989 two freight ships Coutances and Purbeck as well as the passenger ferries Trégastel and Corbière were on this route. As Poole-Cherbourg had substantially grown in popularity, it was decided to replace the ageing Trégastel (1971) and Corbière (1970) with a brand new superferry, the Barfleur. Introduction Barf
  2. Hello all First post for me. Does anybody know if there are exercise areas for dogs at the terminal at Poole? loading the dogs in the car at 0530 and not letting them out until 1045 GMT might be stressful on their toilet needs. I won't be feeding them before departure but suspect they'll still have urges.
  3. Evening! Visited Sandbanks yesterday in my way to the Poole Boat Show, couple of pictures attached of the Barfleur, MN Pelican and Condor Liberation. Nice place to watch the ferries at Sandbanks, and fairly lucky with Brambles Bush Bay being on the Purbrook side for both Barfleur and MN Pelican. Barfleur looks a lot better condition paintwise than Normandie, shows how the more extensive / longer Caen route has bigger impact.
