St Nazaire to Gijon

Recommended Posts

Balearia have announced that their vessel Sicilia will be operating on the route, she's also to have an LNG conversion.

Sicilia is a Visentini built in 2002 with similar accommodation and vehicle capacity to Etretat, Connemara and Epsilon.

Thanks Jonno.  So a predominantly freight-orientated route then.  Worth reminding people that Connemara used to be Norman Asturias, which operated on the route at the end of LD’s stint.

Another snippet of info...

Balearia have been given until July 2021 to commence the service as the vessel is one of five in their fleet being converted to LNG. The time frame will also give El Musel the time to construct the necessary LNG refuelling station at the port.

Balearia have signed a fuel supply deal with Naturgy previously named Gas Natural Fenosa who are a Spanish energy provider rather than follow a similar route to BF in choosing a fuel refiner.
