There is a video on youtube from the bridge of the Calais. Making a complete mess of it, if I remember correctly!

Yes, I seem to remember one of the Chunnel Beaters had to come out and have a second go at it.  Can’t remember which one of them it was, but it was probably Calais.

Looks like she finally made her way onto the beach earlier today in Aliaga

Vronskiy in the new Trasme livery -

It sounds a bit like Cabin-girl trying to return a trolley at Super-U. Ed

I have a feeling that the Dover was towed to the beach? Calais definitely hit it at some speed but I think you may be right that it was her second run at it

I have a feeling she rammed into some other boats on the way in the first time and had to disentangle herself from them for the second go!

The Dover definitely left the UK with tugs

Yes, she was towed all the way from Tilbury to Aliaga.  By the time P&O sent her away she had no functioning engines left.

When was the last ex BF ship scrapped before the Duc? There are a few still clinging on in the med and Red Sea I think? Duchesse Anne, Tregastel, Gotland, Pont L'abbe that I'm aware of. Is the Apollo, former Benodet still going? Very old AIS signal from Quebec

As far as I’m aware, the following former BF fleet members have been scrapped:

Breizh Izel

Penn Ar Bed

Cornouailles

Quiberon

Duc De Normandie

Goelo

Benodet (yes, she did capsise, but was then salvaged for breaking)

Prince of Brittany / Reine Mathilde

Armorique (I) lies somewhere at the bottom of the Java Sea north of Indonesia.
