Are there any public gardens or parks in St. Malo.

Staying in Dinard for a few days and will go across to St. Malo on the ferry but we don't want to be on our feet all day. Any suggestons?

The following site in French gives details of those parks and gardens in or around St Malo. Let me know if you need any of the details translated. Ed.

From where the boat drops you, you have a few small gardens close by, up on the ramparts. Otherwise you will need to head over to St Servan where the Corbières is the biggest of several gardens. There is another just up from the Rue Ville Pepin, on your right as you go up, and the small, but attractive Roseraie Sainte Anne. Further out towards the dam, the Briantais gardens are nice, and are the location of planr and flower shows. The malouinière du Bos has a traditional garden, whilst the only malouinière on the west side of the Rance, Montmarin, is famous for its agapanthus and many other plants.

The Parc Briantais is nice and has a nice view down on to the Rance and the Barrage. Wouldn't really be walkable from where the boat drops you. One thing to think about (if you haven't already done it) is to visit the Information Centre in the Barrage de Rance - it is has interesting info about electricity generation and also a glimpse into the power plant itself.
