Pont Aven

Recommended Posts

A while ago I was browsing through some old posts and came across a dramatic photograph of Pont Aven entering Santander during a storm. She is at an amazing angle, caused I presume by a large swell catching her broadside. I have unsuccessfully tried to locate the photograph again on several occasions to no avail. Could anybody with a superior knowledge of this excellent site point me in the right direction please.

Great and dramatic photos I agree.  It's all in the perspective though - PA in the background and breaking waves crashing onto the beach in the foreground.  Don't be fooled into thinking that the ship is actually sailing through the breakers and spray that you can see.  She isn't (they are in shallow water and she is in deep water), and conditions where the ship is will be considerably more benign.

The 1st, 3rd and 4th photos are of PA crashing through the waves, the other are not though.
