It was a bit of wind about yesterday, perhaps it was to much for her, rather than turn back thought going for a bit of shelter around Weymouth/Portland

Blimey. hardly enough time to drain the dock and refill it. Did they just look at her and say "she floats" and sent her back with am invoice?

It's nothing like as slow as the old A&P KG V dry dock with half the Solents ferry fleet. That used to take hours. Falmouth is pretty quick.

Voith change is 3 days generally. 5 if afloat.

Blimey. How do they do it afloat? Beach one end? Ballast the other? Apologies for the ignorance!

Yes, with plenty of ballast in one end you can lift the voith up enough to take it out

You have to cut the hatches out, take out a beam of the upper car deck and dismantle the drenched pipes, but it can be done.

I think the saints tried it once. They tried it on Cenred by beaching her, but it wasn't successful.

I think these vessels don't spend long enough on annual refit/survey. They have a harsh life and this is there once a year time to have a good look at everything needs doing and to spruce them up. When they get back they get the odd day off for the work to be done but that cannot be as good surely? You want the assets to last as long as possible and to look good as long as possible.

Do we know why? Don't think it's been overly windy.... Or is it the fog?

Been running up to 5 hours behind schedule cause cowes harbour keeps getting closed due to fog and linkspan in Southampton has a fault and takes ages to load .must be the self leveller on it as one deck at a time gets loaded and the,n it’s adjusted to load the other deck .its nothing new getting delays due to fog but the moaning is exceptional over here lol ..I am more concerned with the cost of the ferry lol
