The Ferry Man
Evening! Have booked myself a daytrip to Caen using the BFe offer. Was just wondering if there is anywhere you good vantage points to see the ferries leave from Ouistreham? From looking at my pics from previous trips, it looks like the port extends out to the end of the land. Thanks!
Khaines
Screenshotted this on Street View - I think you can walk out to the end, I remember going down on the beach.
barfy
Here was pretty good , you can see them coming in and out through the main ship channel
barfy
You can get pretty close to them , attached some of my old pics from there.
rogerpatenall
This probably won't help you, Brigitte, but I always find it very dramatic watching an arrival from a mile or more west of the canal. The ship appears to just plough onto the beach - a bit like Alang, I suppose.
Khaines
I was on the beach watching when I went over - it was beautiful. Another good one is up by the lock gates, walk along the footpath towards the port, can get some quite dramatic shots from there - only would advise not to do it close to the time of departure as I did, nearly got stuck behind the gates as they were closing two minutes after I got back onto the “right” side....😄
