Have I missed something?

Armorique is sailing to Caen not Cherbourg?

???

No, this is her week at Poole.  She's back at Ouistreham next month to cover for Normandie.

Yes B, she certainly earns her keep, enjoy her while she's there. Personally can't wait for her to return to Plymouth though, love the Thursday night out on the Pont, then back Friday on Arm :)

Great photos btw DW!

Take it easy HF, let the children have a real ship to take pictures of for a week we'll have her back soon.

We’ll have our old comfy pair of slippers back next week, but while the cat’s away...😉

This morning brought to mind the way some people visualise Sandbanks as something like Dubai, all palm trees and sunshine.  Loads of casinos, bars and restaurants.  Loads of celebrities and footballers live there so people assume it is some millionaires playground.

Yep, loads of millionaires - but that is all, it is a beauty spot, but a very bleak and bitterly cold one in the winter!  Very beautiful nevertheless.

Well, was a lovely trip on her, rather than do a voyage report in that section, can slip it in here.  Was a great trip, a bit choppy on the way back, but very comfortable otherwise.  The salad bar wasn’t there, but the fruit salad one was, so had a bowlful of that and very nice it was too.  What are those red berry things, they had lychee, orange, mango and pineapple and something that looked like dried cranberries which were very nice, just wondered what they were.  Had a full English breakfast and bought a few things in the shop.   Yes, I did mosey down to McDonalds, very busy in there being a Saturday, they have those self service terminals in there which are really confusing, you order it on some screen, pay at the till then they bring it to the table.  I managed to order 2 coffees by mistake, wondered what they were doing on the tray the waittress brought!  (Much rather the old way, they have those terminals in Bournemouth and they are horrible)

The ship is lovely, one thing I do wonder about Armorique, is that although she has the two floors of public space, she only has the one self service.  Barfleur, being as small as she is has the one floor but three different places to get food.  The self service, that other cafe that they open in the summer and I believe you can order food at the bar too.  I wonder why they have not got another cafe on Arm, she could do with one, there is a lot of seating that could be sacrificed for another cafe, perhaps on deck 6.

Nice crossings, apart from my indignation at Maccy’s new additions in Cherbourg, which I will have to get used to, it was a good day out and really enjoyed Armorique.  Nice to have her for a short while, hope to see her again next year.

There is a café on deck 6, forward with the reclining seats, only does drinks, cakes etc.  It might not be open at this time of year. They do serve continental breakfast in the bar when busy.

Thanks Neil.  I had a wander around and just got me thinking.  Barfleur’s smaller cafe does pizzas and I think from memory, things like croque monsieur, along with patisserie type things and theu do drinks.  The bar, I am pretty sure I have seen food brought from behind the bar, something on a plate served to someone, but didn’t actually see what it was.  Possibly a continental breakfast.  One thing I noticed on Arm which might be the same throughout the fleet is the vending machines not stocking the Minute Maid orange juice.  It is sold in the self service and bar, they used to do cans in the vending machine, none there yesterday.
