jamess Report post Posted July 26, 2018 Hi, It has been a while since I have travelled with BF and never before on the Pont Aven. I have booked Commodore Cabins and was offered cabin 8314. I was then advised that 8401 was available and that was a better cabin. Can anyone explain the difference? Thanks, James
Cabin-boy Report post Posted July 26, 2018 If you download this plan of the ship you will see that it's a 'corner' cabin with a more spacious balcony than some of the others. Your original cabin does not, I believe, have a balcony. http://www.brittany-ferries.co.uk/media/pdf/s/q/Pont_Aven_Ship_Guide_05-06-18.pdf Ed
jamess Report post Posted July 26, 2018 Apologies, previous cabin was 8414 Thanks for the link to the layout. Yes, it shows a more spacious balcony. Are all the layouts within the commodore cabins the same? James
neilcvx Report post Posted July 26, 2018 Yes they are all the same apart from the two with bigger balconies.
Cabin-boy Report post Posted July 26, 2018 I can't tell you about the layout I'm afraid having never tried one. But there maybe photos on the BF website and there is definitely a video somewhere on YouTube with a guy giving a guided tour. Ed.
mjturner Report post Posted July 26, 2018 The only problem that we found with 8401 was in the morning there was a lot of water spraying down off the upper deck where they were washing down the pet area. Otherwise it is a great cabin and balcony. you can also use the Commodore lounge with free tea and coffee.

Maybe it was a Great Dane lifting his leg .
