Quiz: Identify this BF ship and its approximate location?

Yep Normandie for me too. That looks like a door hinge in the photo and Norma has a pax promenade door not too far back and below the bridge wing.

Could be Etretat hasn't she got a bit of a gap in her with a door? I've only been on her twice but I remember it being pretty blowy and you could stand there out of the wind. Don't remember her having any round windows though?

You know what - I’m starting to wonder if it’s Pont Aven.  The lack of windows in the foreward superstructure is odd, and fits with PA more than the others.

I have no idea, only been on her twice, that was enough for me. I'm resisting the temptation of looking at pictures... it's like being sang to by the last custard cream on a plate!

I'm hedging my bets a little, Normandie or Etretat leaving PIP in the evening just ahead of HMS Bristol and Whale Island on her starboard side.

If  I needed to give a firm choice... mmm. Etretat.

Unless it's a Red Funnel ferry. There are several sunken masts sticking up out of the water. 😀 Ed.

No fog Ed.

Thanks for all the responses.

But can't believe nobody got it right!

It was the Mont St Michel (23:00 Caen - Portsmouth) sailing taken last June!

The photo was taken just after I got up - so it would have been around 6am.

Here is a photo taken of her the night before in Ouistreham. 1041862769_msmcaen.thumb.jpg.93c85b96aba879cec0f428a7e93bfcd5.jpg

My apologies to everyone who said it was the PA.

This was actually the PA!

This was taken with an old phone which ( I only remember now) had wrong date/time settings on it!

(Massive face palm) Thank you to Giloine for pointing this out!
