Friday afternoon ferry

Recommended Posts

We usually make 5 or 6 crossings a year, mostly Pompey to Caen. We have used the 14.00 ferry quite often as we have quite a long trip to North Derbyshire to home. I notice this is now due to dock at 20.30, that's a seven and half hour trip, hardly worth the earlier embarkation. Why has this been changed? Not for customers.

The 14:45 ferry from Portsmouth to Ouistreham (Caen) has always docked in Ouistreham at 20:30 (19:30 UK time). Unless you are talking about Ouistreham to Portsmouth? This has only changed on a Friday for November for when this route goes into the Winter timetable.

I think Jeff is referring to the 14h00 Caen departure on wednesday afternoons in summer, Friday afternoons during the winter to allow MSM off the berth on layover day. Arrival is usually at 19h15 in Portsmouth, but for some reason the 8th, 15th and 22nd November is indeed at 20h30, no idea why. Then it's back to 19h15 from then on....

Chris

PS The 14h45 departure ex UK arrives at 21h30 local time Tony
