Cars stuck onboard Commodore Clipper

Recommended Posts

Yes, this is what the Condor website is saying:

Commodore Clipper – Important information about your sailing – Friday 27th December

We are sorry to advise that due to a technical fault with Commodore Clipper’s internal ramp, it has been necessary to cancel your sailing on Friday 27th December.

We currently have availability on Condor Liberation’s sailing on Friday 27th , Saturday 28th , Sunday 29th and Monday 30th December.

Please let us help you amend your travel plans by calling us on 0345 609 1026, or contact your agent or local port for options.

Ed

ITV news reporting 13 trailers of chilled and frozen food also stuck on board which sounds serious. Pity those with the trapped cars who will have Christmas presents, personal stuff, kids seats etc..Can`t get those moments back. I know stuff happens but it seems to happen to this lot more than most..More goodwill down the pan

Bad pun of the day!  😉 So far, at least. Ed.

No, pun was intended, mind you if their only lifeline goes `Pete Tong` as well it might not have been....🤣..Still can`t fathom why BF wanted to get involved with this cowboy outfit

Presumably it makes sense in any ship which needs an internal ramp to have a pair of them, one at each end or each side depending on how she loads. Or at least have a mechanism whereby it can be safely lowered using gravity alone for when things go wrong. Ed.

These things can happen with any thing mechanical, last year we were on the Pont down on deck 2, the locking pins wouldn't release to open the hatch, at least they had the ramp at the other end.

Took advantage of a shot of Clipper in Poole while at the quayside this morning. Apparently, Rapide is coming over tomorrow night, no idea why.  Going to be a bit busy in Poole then, 3 Condor vessels, plus Barfleur...
