St Malo roadworks ?

Received a text from BF warning of roadworks around Pont Madeleine on the approach to Saint Malo. We are travelling tomorrow.

If I'm arriving from the general direction of Dinan, does anyone out there know if this bridge renovation is causing diversions or long delays ?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Presumably you will be coming via the Rance Barrage? If so, you should not be affected. Just got back from St.Malo, and currently the only road closure is the slip from the Rennes/St.Malo (D137) road to St.Servan. You can still get onto the rue du Général Paton from the road from the barrage that will take you down past the CHU.

Have a look at Google maps.

Coming from Rennes on the D137, the only option is the exit east towards Cancale. Straight on over the bridge is closed. Your best route is to follow the port signs which always took you that way, going off right, under the dual carriageway and in to St Malo centre past the hippodrome. You can come out of St Malo over the bridge in question at the moment, but not into St Malo. Traffic below the bridge, east / west is single lane.

Coming from Dinan you could take the D766 / D266 on the west side of the Rance from the N176 round the west side of Pleurtuit to the D168 across the barrage and thence into St Malo by taking the first slip road on the St Malo side.

Thanks Colin, We'll try the first suggestion which was the way we used to use.  I guess everyone will be doing the same but not all heading for the Armorique !

That leads onto the big dual carriage way that passes the Kyriad hotel  (useful for early sailings) and on to the hippodrome  ?

Arriving there around 6pm for the 6.45pm check in,  all traffic was sent off the D 137 but not much of a queue at all.  Only one roundabout a bit slow with people doubling back towards St Servan.  The queues were much worse and with no social distancing either for the self service restaurant on board !  Thanks for your local knowledge.
